4 stars (Dance Dance Revolution: More addictive than Pac-man) - I just bought this game Yesterday evening after yearning for this for about 6 months. Better than what I percieved it to be like in other people's reviews. The story mode is pretty fun your first way through it on Easy mode and The story is pretty cool except some of it makes no sense, like there is a part when mario is jumping on a flower and some how it magically blooms and bounces mario up on top of a mountain and later in the story Mario has to go back up there and he has to jump on a flag to some how magically appear there when he could of just hopped on the friggin flower. Well anyways this game comes in a box bigger than the one the gamecube comes in so that might scare you from purchasing it in a store because you may think you have to buy a Gamecube with it but you really don't. The box is so big because the Dance Pad is fairly large. When I went to go buy this at Wal*mart the clerks thought it was a gamecube and were wondering why it was so light. LOL! The songs on this game kicks ass. There is a huge bundle of remixed mario songs, some dance songs from 3rd party groups, and atleaste one from other Nintendo games.(Original Donkey Kong Theme Remix) The "Work Out Mode" if you heard about it isn't really a mini-game were you work out. it just changes the option of your weight and tells you how much colories you've burnt throughout your plays through this game. I think the Dance pad is kind of cheap. I worry that I might break it when I wear shoes so I always wear socks or go barefoot while playing, the bottom is white and some how dirt gets attracted to it, the plasticy material that covers the top of the pad wrinkles up if you drag it and sometimes you will move out of place on the mat while your playing and really screw up. Other than those few problems I'm satisfied with my $53.00 purchase of this game and I've lost about 5 lbs so far playing it non-stop (almost). 4 stars (Fun For The Whole... 5 stars (Success with "Pain Free" by Pete Egoscue) - After two years of listening to my friends rave about diminishing the pain from sports injuries with the Egoscue exercises, I finally purchased my own copy. I was amazed at how easy the exercises are, and neck and shoulder pain I had for years diminished after only 10 days. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a drug free way to conquer pain. 5 stars (Really Works -- say goodbye to chronic pain) - Egoscue says that most chronic pain is caused by poor posture and poor body mechanics (e.g., moving wrong). The solution -- a set of stretches that teach you good posture and good body mechanics. These "E-cises" are gentle and easy to perform. They do take a bit of time, 10 to 90 min depending on your problem, but the results are amazing. Everyone I've convinced to actually sit down and do E-cises for their chronic pain problem has experienced noticable improvement after just one session: weak knees, aching wrists, sore ancles, stiff neck & shoulders, headaches, and more. If you have any sort of nagging discomfort, even a minor one, give "Pain Free" a try. You'll be pleasantly surprised! Egoscue also has a radio program Saturday mornings in Colorado, which is how I first heard of this book, and clinics where you can get a personalized E-cise plan. 5 stars (Amazing Book, it really works!) - The book is amazing. 5 stars (WOW!!!!!) - First off...DDR Extreme was the worst game I've ever played! Boring songs were everywhere! From start to finish, and "The Legend of Max" is toooooooo hard for anyone! Fortunately, we now have DDR Extreme 2. At first, I wasn't going to get it, due to the fact that it is the sequel to the worst DDR game in history. But it is actually very good. The graphics were awesome, the music selection was very fun to do, and i love the challenge. Buy it, it's a much better game then Extreme! The songs are just too good to be true. I heard most of the songs in the arcade version are on here. I really dont care about that, but songs like "Cartoon Heroes" and "Butterfly" make this game awesome! What's incredible though, is that doing this for a long enough time can burn up some calories and tone up your calves. It was life-changing experience for me that out of nowhere got me from being lazy to athletic. It's getting bigger and bigger every day in the US, but too bad it still isn't as appreciated as it should be, thanks to monster franchises such as GTA and Halo. DDR Extreme 2 is the sixth installment that Konami has released in the United States (seven if you count the Disney Mix), and it's by far the best one, and it proves to be a great comeback after the largely disappointing Extreme US (although that game is still the recommend... 5 stars (Fantastic game, beyond fun) - I played DDR one night with four of my DDR freak friends and I really loved it. Two of those friends use the game as their own personal workout system, with some good results. After research, I bought DDR Max 2 and some ignition 4.0 dancepads. The gameplay is exhilarating. I started playing with my controller and dancing along because I couldn't wait to play. With or without the dancepad is fine, but it's more fun with the dance pad. Playing just to unlock all the songs and endless mode is addicting, I almost didn't want to leave my room except for food, bathroom and water breaks. The graphics are great, with video in the background and the dancers it's enough to get distracted but it's welcome because it's like being at a real club with video screens. The music varies slightly. There's mostly techno/trance/house songs, with some pop and r&b and soul thrown in. I knew most of the songs before I bought the game because there are a lot of dance hits and classics and there are some songs from the other DDR games on here. You're guaranteed to find something listenable, even if the songs are extremely cheesy ones. Be sure to contact your doctor if you can't stand much stress on your feet if you want to use a dancepad. 4 stars (More options then max and better songs then extreme,) - but extreme 2 has it beet in both. 5 stars (Can't stop the beat!) - Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) Max 2 has the potential to stay the very best party game for a long time to come. 5 stars (A definate hit!) - After not being able to find this in any store, we ordered online and received it in a few days, just in time to take on vacation. My 13 & 14 year-olds played it every day once we came in from the beach, and kept them from bickering as they usually do when inside in the same room (and kept my sanity as well!) They even had mom trying it, after sending them out on the balcony so they couldn't hear me! Sleepovers also now have an activity to keep them busy for hours, along with the DDR. Looking forward to the next one~ PS-it is not obvious that you need to puchase a separate microphone or headset to play this game. (We prefer the microphone). 5 stars (Core Benefits !) - what a difference this book has made in my basic body alignment. I am really taking the time to follow the simple plans of building my core and people see the results. And i am pleased with the results. 4 stars (Excellent workout, but understand the limitations) - As background, I'm a late thirties guy who has generally been active in fitness and recreational sports, but I've been out of competitive athletics since college. As such, I started with a good-but-not-great level of fitness. My reasons for starting included boredom with my routine of weightlifting and kickboxing on alternate days, as well as some reading about the merits of core conditioning as a training approach. I enjoyed this program from the beginning. I could detect improvements in flexibility and abdominal strength within a few workouts. Also, the variety was intellectually stimulating. I used the program for about 9 weeks, took a break from it, and returned. Now I am not quite as strict in sticking to the schedules lined out in the book, but rather work them in with other workouts as time and interest allow. Strengths: 1) The workouts are rigorous and concise. They seldom exceed 45 minutes if you stick to the rules about the amount of rest between sets, but you feel like you have had a good workout. 2) The program works. It helped with overall fitness and sport-specific fitness in soccer and karate. I literally have felt better and fitter than I have in years. 3) The complaint about the science of the book is being answered as research catches up with this training approach. Dynamic stretching, "core" exercises and interval training are showing up in research studies and in professional training rooms. I don't think a reader needs to feel that this is an "out there" approach to fitness. Weakness: 1) The typos should be embarrassing. Most of the time you can figure out what the author meant, but the website is full of people writing in and asking for cl... 3 stars (Yeah, the graphics are nice but its not that fun....) - Unless you cheat like a Cacodemon, otherwise you get killed quick. This expansion pack takes the award for the Fastest Killing of a Player, less than 3 minutes. The only game that is as bad is the first Aliens Vs. Predator game. I bought this dark game at the discount bin of my local game store, thinking that it would be more interesting (or fun) than the original game (which I played all the way to the end, cheat-cheat-cheat). I was expecting something like a more intense version of Serious Sam but it plays alot like Resident Evil. In contrast, Half-Life 2 was alot more fun to play - despite its Police-State registration process. Doom 3 needs to be more fun and less Funhouse. 5 stars (Better than the original) - This game is 10x better than the game it came with. Get this game and you will experience doom! Neat graphics though, claustrophobic environment, better blasting satisfaction, but for me...no real immersion.
