1 stars (Unstable) - I'm an undergraduate engineering student, which means I spend a lot of time 1) doing homework and 2) using my computer. During the times that those two activities coincide, I'm often writing a report or working with an Excel sheet. Before I picked up this version of Office, I had been using Office 2003 for over a year. Office 2003 crashed--a lot. Almost every time I'd use Word or Excel a crash would occur. As a result, I began to hit command-s after about every 25 keystrokes--obsessive, you might say. When I came back to school for the 2005-2006 year and upgraded to Office 2004, I had hopes that because the software was newer, it would somehow be more robust. In my opinion, it's really not. Sure, the interface is a bit cleaner and updated, but even though I'm running the most current versions of this sofware, it still doesn't work very well--crashes occur all too often. It's not the power software I had hoped it would be. As I've told my friends many times, I maintain that Microsoft produces crap for the Mac OS. You can disagree when you like, but I'll be switching to OpenOffice 2.0 when an OS X version is released. If you can get this for "free" (i.e., it's covered by tuition or something), go for it. It *IS* better than Office 2003, but not by much. 4 stars (not quite perfect) - I got the Office for Mac so as to allow me to transfer documents between machines. I would have to say that transferring data using a USB drive saves me a lot of time, although it is not entirely seamless. Some formats on Office Word 2003 are not quite the same on the Mac Office. Otherwise, Office for Mac allows me to continue using my Apple in a PC dominated workplace. It was a good investment. 4 stars (Great!) - First off, apple users seem to always have a biased view on anything that says "microsoft" on the box. Then they go off on a tangent on how terrible Microsoft is, they find one thing that they disliked in the program and find grounds to give... 3 stars (Yeah, the graphics are nice but its not that fun....) - Unless you cheat like a Cacodemon, otherwise you get killed quick. This expansion pack takes the award for the Fastest Killing of a Player, less than 3 minutes. The only game that is as bad is the first Aliens Vs. Predator game. I bought this dark game at the discount bin of my local game store, thinking that it would be more interesting (or fun) than the original game (which I played all the way to the end, cheat-cheat-cheat). I was expecting something like a more intense version of Serious Sam but it plays alot like Resident Evil. In contrast, Half-Life 2 was alot more fun to play - despite its Police-State registration process. Doom 3 needs to be more fun and less Funhouse. 5 stars (Better than the original) - This game is 10x better than the game it came with. Get this game and you will experience doom! The level designs are more interesting and frightening. The action is faster and makes you think quick. Much Much better than regular doom3. 4 stars (A Step Up for DOOM 3) - Better overall. Smooth install. Better weapons. The Artifact is fun to use. Faster and more variable levels. Just when it starts to get too tedious (and it does), some element of the game significantly changes and it's more fun again. Only a few problems to solve during the game. There was nothing particularly amusing about this game, no real levity, and I never really felt like my monster fighting skills were improving from level to level. Neat graphics though, claustrophobic environment, better blasting satisfaction, but for me...no real immersion. For a WORLD GONE MAD, goofy and imaginative, visually very interesting, often really creepy, a "how the hell am I supposed to do that", blast 'em to pieces, WHOA kinda game.... PAINKILLER :) ...
