2 stars (Not Happy With Tiger Woods 2005) - I don't understand why they felt a need to customize the golfer, right down to the size of the golfer's nostrils! It seems like an awful waste of programming and unnecessary use of the computer's resources. Why not improve the graphics which were better in TW 2003? Tiger Woods 2003 is a much better game and more realistic. TW 2003 application was 4.1 MB's and 2005 is 7.8 MB's. Who cares about the size of a golfer's head, ears, eyes, nose, mouth, etc.? The graphics in TW 2003 were much better than TW 2005! ... 5 stars (Playing with my friends all over the country) - I think the other reviews cover the game quite well but there's no mention of playing on line. I play on line with buddies in Florida, No. Carolina and Oklahome City. WE play about five nights a week, late, late, late, after the wives are in bed. While we play we are all connected to Yahoo Messenger voice chat so we can talk as we play. We have a few little problems from time to time but nothing we can't handle quickly. I recomend this game to anyone who enjoys golf. I'm an old Geezer and can't swing a club without falling on my Keester so this game is a savior. 4 stars (Great Deal for a Great Game) - Let me start by saying that this game is the closest to real golf that you can get on a computer. The game is very big and well designed. There is so much to do with this game. You start by creating your character, which is a very fun process in itself. Like others mentioned there are enough options that you can get your character to look almost exactly like you. It's actually kind of scary. I even bought the exact clubs I use in real life. After you've had that fun you start playing on the amateur tour. You enter tournaments and win some money. You can use that money to buy new clubs and equipment and improve you attributes in a number of different categories such as "long game" and "short game". You take lessons to learn new shots such as "high spin" and "flop". Your ultimate goal is to win the amateur championship and become a pro. Once you do this you join the EA Sports tour, when you win the championship on this tour it's off to Q-School and the PGA Tour. The graphics in this game are really spectacular. I have a high end system so I can't comment on the requirements but I would imagine you need a fairly modern PC to play this game to its full potential. I will admit that this game is the only program that has ever caused my PC to crash. It has only happened a couple of times but it has happened. The only... 2 stars (EA just doesn't care.) - This game is an embarassment. I've been playing the Tiger Woods PGA Tour series since 2002 and have been a huge fan of it up until now. The newest version is the buggiest yet, with all sorts of visual and audio glitches present throughout the game. They also, for some reason, removed the ability to skip celebration animations for the golfers from this version, forcing you to sit through the same ones over and over and over again until you want to smash your putter through your television. As far as gameplay is concerned, few changes have been made, and they are mostly for the worse. It now takes FOREVER to level up your golfer in single-player mode due to the game's new points system. This wouldn't be so bad if playing the game didn't seem like such a chore in the first place. Another change they've made is to the putting. They attempted to make it harder by turning it into an analog swing, but ended up making it ridiculously easy with the "ideal putt" camera. Once you master it, rare is the occasion that it will actually take you more than one putt to get the ball in the hole. Overall, one gets the impression playing this game that EA Sports just doesn't care about quality anymore. They just seem to throw in a few new "features" that worsen the gameplay, let a few more bugs slip through the cracks, and then have the gall to release this year's latest edition at full price. I, for one, am done with this series. 1 stars (Don't waste the money!!) - I have been a major fan of all the EA Sports PS2 Tiger Woods golf games- until now. What the hell is going on! I can describe this new incarnation for the 2006 season very easily, crap, crap, CRAP!!! I should have listened to other reviews that supported my opinion before I wasted $50.00 for this, but like many of you I want to see things for myself, so I bought it. My biggest complaint was in the degredation of the graphics. Last years 2005 version was great. Now the graphics l... 5 stars (What is all the complaining about?) - I've never written a game review before, but the one and two star assessments have prompted me to add my two cent (or should I say $49.99). Here are my comments in no particular order. 1)2006 graphics looks identical to 2005. This seems reasonable since it written for the same hardware (xbox). 2)The green grid is a welcomed addition. In 2005, there was no green grid for putting. I had to change to chipping to get the grid. I hated the caddy aid and the ideal line aid. The new green grid, which isn't so new since it was in the 2004 version), certainly makes putting more realistic. It forces you to get feel for the put. 3)The two stick putter is much more interesting and challenging. In previous versions, all you had to do is move the putter marker to get perfect distance - moving the left stick at 100% power allowed for any distance. Now, with two stick putting, the player must feel the putting distance my adjusting the power in the shot. I've certainly blown a few puts by not feeling it quite right. 4)You have all the control of the ball and more. The ability to put spin on the ball after the shout is still there. This a critical aspect of the game since it keeps the player involved throughout the entire ball flight. Other game (Links) is a bit boring - once you've hit the ball, there nothing to do. Remember, this is an arcade game. 5)I see no problems with loading time - same as 2005. 6)Menus are different, not better or worse. One does get used to change. 7)Drives do go straight, but the challenge is keeping that draw or fade from becoming a hook or slice. 8)I like the fact that a player can't play every tournament in the rookie season. You must earn the right. 9)Other players can shoot in the 50's in PGA mode. Anyway, this list could go one, but I've got other stuff to do. I agree with 90% of the changes from 2005 to 2006. If you want better graphics, get XBOX 360. What is all the complaining about? 1 stars (Did ... 5 stars (great game) - Tiger woods pga tour 2000-2003 are fun but this is funner. All new world tour.Buy it now! 5 stars (Wonderful game) - I originally played this game on the PS2 and I didnt care for it. Due to boredom, I purchased a GBA and this was one of the few games available and I'm glad it was there. This game is not only easy to learn but as you get better the games becomes more challeging. I cant comment on the graphics because I'm new to the GB world but from a beginners point of view they are wonderful. 3 stars (Best for golf gameboy yet) - This game is fun and it saves your game constantly which is a huge plus. Unfortunately, putting is so easy that it may as well not even exist in the game. Putting is a tedious chore with no challenge. Otherwise this game is great. You may want to wait for Mario Golf to be released if you like putting in your golf game. ... Electronic Arts :: Game Boy Advance :: Video Games :: :: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004
