1 stars (Norton Internet Security is a complete waste of time & money.) - I purchased Norton and I have always used Norton as my anti-virus and firewall. I purchased Norton (again) last year and will not be renewing my subscription this year. This product is a joke. It completely slows down my laptop without reason (laptop is a high end IBM), it sends out a million messages for no apparent reasons and keeps asking to be un-installed and re-installed because one function or another is not working. Symantec really need to fix this software or lose all their customers. 2 stars (The anti-virus component might be OK, but the rest is buggy.) - Norton anti-virus at some point was the best anti-virus program, then it started going down hill and especially when they bundled this other useless (trash-ware) Internet security components. I am an above average computer user. This product is not worth the money. It is probably best to spend the money on just the anti-virus alone if that is still any good. When I installed this program it slowed down my 550 MHz system. If I try to send an email with an attachment it timed out (poor programing) because it scans the outgoing mail and it is also supposed to "train" its anti-spam engine, which is by the way useless, a simple OE filter catches more spam than it ever hopes to. I have DSL so it is not a bandwidth or timeout issue like Symantec would like you to believe, it is simply that Norton acts as the mail server for your email client but acts less than that due to poor or incomplete programing. Symantec's website is not much help on this big defect in the program. The solution that I discovered after days of trial and error is to disable the scanning of the outgoing email all together, this applies to the email scanning of outgoing messages and the filtering/training in the anti-spam options (so much for paying the extra for the Internet security features that have to be disabled in most cases unless you are just sending ... 1 stars (If only I had read these reviews first!) - Ditto, ditto. I bought it OTC at Costco, and find that it habitually moves mail on my allowed list to the spam folder. At least it gives me an easy way to id all new messages, read the two that are legit, and delete the 9 spams. I basically read my mail from the spam folder now! 1 stars (What happened to all of my e-mail?) - This product is working on the problem I bought it to address- blocking offensive pornographic e-mails. so far its been 100% effective. (It has only been a couple of weeks however) the problem is we're apparently not getting any legitimate e-mail now. folks on our "allowed" list aren't getting through. All the settings seem to be in order, but I've confirmed that good e-mail is getting blocked also by unsuccessfully sending an e-mail from work and unsuccessfully eliciting e-mail from other "allowed" users. To compound matters, the "product support" that's free is virtually worthless. I can't figure out how to get to a helpful place- seems to require a series of mysterious downloads. I'm reluctant to try the phone help because of the cost and the bad experience others have reported with that help source. Integration with outlook express, it make the rule unmodifiable, which would be fine if it works well, but they don't put a stop to processing more rules, and my subsequent rules will move the messages marked spam to a different folder, then the toolbard won't allow me to mark the message non-spam from those folders. 4 stars (Very good for a Star Wars game) - I've got to state up front that I suffer from major Star Wars burnout -- the first movie (1977) was great, everything else has been merchandising -- so my praise for this game is not given lightly. Gameplay is smooth and dynamic, some Star Wars games we've had in the past have been really dreadfully behind the times, this feels like it's state-of-the-art. The space combat is a welcome addition. My son clued me in on new characters previously not available to be played. It looks great on the screen. Overall? For a Star Wars game, very good. For any other game, ok. It's an improvement on previous Star Wars games, but for my money I just do not want to hear Obi Wan Kenobi's voice encouraging me to trust the force or take a droidica apart or anything like that. I'm just sick of Star Wars in general. Now, my son, who's eleven, thinks this is the best game he's played since Halo 2. 2 stars (Splendid graphics, but...) - Ok, I'll start with the graphics. I have high end PC (AMD 64-bit 3500+, Radeon X800XT 256mb, S-ATA Western Digital, 2 GB RAM) and there were no troubles with running the game at highest settings. The game is really beautiful - there are flying birds, crocodiles, the terrain is funny when you zoom on it. But for me this is the only good thing in the game. For example, why the **** you need that animated traveling steam engine? It does not change anything in the game. Only increases the lag in the game... You have many nations to choose from, but the final result is the same upgrades, almost the same units. I and one mate of me played the game over the LAN. He was with the Russians, me with the English guys. Practically, the only difference was that the Russians speak in Russian... I don't think that having the home town is big advantage. About the maps - I did not find random generated maps, which for me is big issue. I want to play every time on different maps. This gives me much more fun than to play on a map that I already know. And finally, when I wanted to uninstall the game it took me a lot of time just waiting to initialize uninstalling process. The whole process took about 3 minutes! In general the game lost the feeling of its predecessors. I don't feel it like AoE II. BTW, the same is with the EA II. For me much better are AoE II and the first EA. So, I'm going to sell my copy of AoE III and keep playing Empires Dawn of the Modern World. 4 stars (Not bad at all!) - I was a little antsy about picking up this title. A lot of the reviews are extremely mixed and offered up a wide variety of pros and cons for this game. I became a hard boiled fan of AOE1 way back when it first came out and you'd often find me facing off with friends via LAN while my Phonecian war elephants ran amok through their ranks. AOE2 was even better, allowing better tactics for your infantry and cavalry as well as great seige equipment and castles. So ...
